Automatic sorting system is composed of control unit, classification unit, conveying unit and sorting crossings. Connected by all computer networks, the system helps efficiently correctly identify and sort various mixed items by contents, delivery destination or any customized categories.
Control unit is to recognize, receive and handle different signals. Common identifying methods include bar code scanning, color code scanning, typing, weight detecting, height detecting, voice recognizing, shape recognizing, etc.
Classification unit works as per the instructions from the control unit to alter the running directions of items with the same attribute. Common sorting operation includes pushing, floating, tilting and splitting, which depends on the item package, weight or smooth degree of bottoms.
Conveying unit is all over the whole system to connect other units. Items skid from the main conveyors into different sorting crossings via sorting operation.
Sorting crossings convey the sorted items into the store area or shipping docks. Generally, the crossings can be of (gravity) wheels/rollers, steel strips or belts.
